Educational hiking trails allow visitors to see centuries of abundant wildlife, natural wetlands, and an erosion ravine with soil that is a remnant of the ancient shallow seas that covered Georgia 50 to 100 million years ago. Three looping trails cover this natural wonder.
The forest is open Monday through Friday at 8 am to 4:30 pm. It is closed on state holidays. |

The Oconee River Greenway Park and River walk provides the city of Milledgeville with a safe, beautiful area to exercise or relax and enjoy the beauty and sounds of the Oconee River. The Greenway offers multiple individual fishing stations and a boat ramp as well as multi-use trails.

Solomon Harris Walking Trail is located at the corner of Harrisburg Rd. SW and Laverne Circle SW, in the Harrisburg Community, south of Milledgeville.

The Walter B. Williams park features a walking and running track, softball fields, playground, and basketball courts. It also has a soccer complex, which has a 8 lane regulated track on site.
